The Hospice El Paso Team strives to provide the most compassionate end-of-life experience possible for our veteran population. Our hospice professionals are taught how to meet the unique needs of patients with a history of military service. Hospice El Paso is a proud partner of the We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), in collaboration with the Department of Veteran Affairs.
The goal of Hospice El Paso is to build partnerships with Veteran centric agencies to ensure that excellent care at the end-of-life is available for U.S. veterans and their families. Hospice El Paso is focused on:
- Honoring and respecting veteran’s choices at the end-of-life
- Helping veterans and their families connect with local VA services to receive the benefits in which they are entitled
- Strengthening the relationship between Hospice El Paso and VA facilities
- Providing education to veterans and family members about hospice and other end-of-life options
- Ensuring all veterans in need of hospice care receive eligible benefits under the VA, Medicare, Medicaid or other payors
- Obtaining end-of-life services for qualified veterans and family members
- Addressing psycho-social needs for veterans and family members
